Terms of Service

These Terms explain the rules for using Srrk, including accounts, AI-generated reading context, ads, purchases, and account deletion.

1. Service overview

Srrk is a reading companion app. It helps you scan or enter a book ISBN, look up book metadata, receive pre-reading context, save a library, keep bookmarks and notes, and ask book-related questions where the feature is available.

These Terms apply when you access or use Srrk. If you do not agree to them, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

Srrk is available only to users who are 14 years of age or older. By continuing to sign in or use Srrk, you confirm that you are at least 14 and that you agree to these Terms.

We do not knowingly provide Srrk to children under 14. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 14, we may remove the account and associated user-specific data.

3. Accounts and security

Srrk uses external sign-in providers, including Kakao, Google, and Apple. Supabase provides authentication, database, storage, and server-side functions for the service.

You are responsible for keeping your external provider account secure. If you believe your provider credentials or device have been compromised, update your provider account, review active sessions, and sign out of Srrk where appropriate.

You must not attempt to access another user's account, bypass authentication, interfere with security controls, scrape the service at scale, or use Srrk in a way that disrupts the app for other users.

4. Reading data, notes, and AI content

Srrk may store books added to your library, bookmarks, notes, reading progress, selected language, curation status, and related timestamps. You keep responsibility for the notes and text you choose to enter.

Srrk uses book metadata and ISBN-related context to generate curation cards, explanations, recommendations, summaries, and book Q&A responses. These outputs may be generated with Google Gemini and may rely on metadata from sources such as Kakao/Daum Book Search, the National Library of Korea, Open Library, and Internet Archive.

AI-generated content is provided for reading support and reference. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or different from the original book text. Always verify quotes, factual claims, academic citations, legal conclusions, medical claims, financial claims, and other important decisions against reliable sources.

Srrk is not a substitute for the original book, professional advice, or your own judgment.

5. Acceptable use

You may use Srrk for personal reading, study, and book discovery. You must not use Srrk to violate law, infringe intellectual property, harass others, upload unlawful content, reverse engineer the service, attack infrastructure, or automate excessive requests.

You must also respect the terms of the book metadata, platform, sign-in, advertising, analytics, and payment providers that make Srrk possible.

6. Ads, consent, and purchases

When monetization is active, free users may see ads served through Google AdMob and active mediation partners such as Pangle. Srrk may use Google User Messaging Platform, App Tracking Transparency, Firebase, and related SDKs to request consent, apply frequency caps, measure ad performance, and protect reliability.

You can manage advertising consent from Srrk settings where available. If Srrk Plus or a legacy ad-free purchase is active, purchases may be processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, and, for future web billing, Stripe. RevenueCat may synchronize subscription and ad-free entitlements with your Srrk account.

Prices, availability, refunds, and payment handling are controlled by the relevant app store or payment provider. Srrk does not receive your card number or payment instrument details.

7. Privacy and account deletion

Srrk's handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, why it is used, when it is shared, and how you can control it.

You can delete your account in Srrk settings. Account deletion removes your account and user-specific rows associated with your account, such as profile data, library entries, bookmarks, notes, Q&A records, reward sessions, and entitlements where the database links them to your account.

Global book metadata, public cover caches, non-user-specific curation caches, operational logs, and security records may remain when they are not tied to a single user account or when retention is reasonably needed for operations, security, debugging, compliance, or abuse prevention.

8. Service availability and changes

Srrk may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Book lookup, AI generation, sign-in, ads, in-app purchases, and analytics depend on third-party services, network availability, platform review requirements, and operator configuration.

We may apply rate limits, block abusive traffic, remove unavailable content, disable monetization or ads, and use remote configuration or server controls to protect the service.

9. Ending access

You may stop using Srrk at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, or if we are required to do so by law, platform rules, or provider requirements.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when Srrk changes or when legal, operational, provider, or platform requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest version.

If a change is material, we will use a reasonable notice method such as an in-app notice, updated public page, or app store release notes. Continuing to use Srrk after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
